Rita
Prager Stein, Ed.D. received her doctorate degree from Columbia
University Teachers College, and has studied at the Cornell University
School of Industrial and Labor Relations. She holds bachelors
and masters degrees from Hunter College in New York and received
a professional degree from C.W. Post College of Long Island University.
As
an instructor in administration at the State University of New
York at Stony Brook, she is the co-author of the best selling
book Connecting Character to Conduct: Helping Students Do the
Right Thing, published by the Association for Supervision
and Development (ASCD).
Dr. Rita was a human resource director for over 20 years in a
very large school district on Long Island, New York, and as such,
was in charge of the hiring, training, management and supervision
of over 2000 employees. She is well versed in the field of labor
negations, both for union and non-union personnel. Dr. Rita has
recently co-authored Induction: Connecting Teacher Recruitment
to Retention, a guide book to finding the best staff and then
retaining them as productive, effective, loyal and long lasting
employees.
As a consultant to school districts and companies, including
Sandals Resorts and Iberostar Hotels as well as major law firms
and a host of others, Dr. Rita has developed training workshops
on character education, leadership and employee development, customer
service and transforming staff culture for all levels of school
and corporate personnel.
Dr. Rita's presentations, whether they are keynote addresses
or in depth seminars and workshops, are lively, informative and
entertaining.
